Confidence Is Built Before Assessment Day

Most assessment nerves come from uncertainty. You can reduce that uncertainty by knowing the standard, practising the sequence, and getting feedback early enough to do something useful with it.

Assessment week checklist

  • Rehearse the full sequence, not isolated pieces only
  • Practise explaining what you are doing in plain language
  • Check any paperwork, portfolio, or case-study requirements
  • Ask your tutor which mistakes are common and avoidable
  • Sleep, hydrate, and arrive early enough to settle
5

Rehearse under realistic conditions

Set a timer, use the equipment you will use on the day, and practise the whole flow from greeting the client to closing the session.
6

Use feedback while it is still useful

The earlier you ask for feedback, the less dramatic each correction feels. Treat feedback as part of the training process, not a judgement at the end.
Calm delivery is usually the result of clear preparation.
