Sports massage and personal trainer courses in West Sussex
Training where SSTA is based
Sports massage is taught in person in Chichester; the venue for each group is confirmed in writing before you pay. For West Sussex learners that usually means the quickest start is the Chichester group itself, not a separate local one. Register for the next Chichester group — dates are confirmed once it fills.
The county stretches a long way north-east, though. Crawley and East Grinstead are much further from Chichester than Bognor Regis or Selsey, so the right answer depends on which corridor you live along.
Two railway corridors into Chichester
Most of the county reaches Chichester along one of two lines. Journey planners show the following.
- Bognor Regis
- About 20 minutes by train, usually changing at Barnham, or Stagecoach bus 700 in about half an hour.
- Worthing, Lancing and Shoreham
- East along the coast. Worthing has direct Southern trains; see the Worthing page for early weekend times.
- Horsham and Crawley
- Direct Southern trains on the London Victoria to Portsmouth route run through Horsham to Chichester.
- Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and East Grinstead
- On the London to Brighton side of the county, so journeys usually involve a change. Check yours with a journey planner.

West Sussex questions
Will SSTA open a second West Sussex group outside Chichester?
Only if enough people in one part of the county register. Interest from around Crawley and Horsham is counted separately from the coast, because their journeys are so different.
Is there a sports massage course near Bognor Regis?
Chichester is the nearest. The train takes about 20 minutes with a change at Barnham, and the 700 bus runs between the two towns.
I live in Midhurst or Petworth without a station. Can I still train?
Yes, but plan the journey before you commit to a run of practical days. If you will rely on buses, tell admissions when you register so they can talk timings through with you.
